Leadership Skills

The Women-Space Three Strengths Model

‘What kind of leader are you?” is a classic interview question.

The world, and the internet, are full of options that you can choose from, but in my experience, none of them quite fit.

The simple reason being, we are not fixed archetypes. We each have our own personality and inflection that we bring to our leadership style, and this itself changes with time and context.

However, the three strengths model is a good place to start:

1

You can

‘You can’ is a powerfully positive phrase. Women-Space begins from this position of affirmation. It draws from the view in positive psychology that you already have the capabilities and skills that will enable you to flourish. Together we build on this by analysing your realised and unrealised strengths. Working with your strengths counters feeling that you are deficient in some way.

You are extraordinary. And that’s why we start here.

2

You are connected

You bring your body into a room as well as your mind. How you move, and breathe. How you stand, and walk.  All of this creates an impact. The connection between your brain and your body creates affects, and effects.  We know this as we experience it every day.

Now we need to harness this strength so that you are equipped with both the knowledge and skill to create the impact you are seeking.

Your values

It is by integrating your values that you can drive a real transformation. We work together to ensure your values are infused into your hopes and dreams and the things you really care about.

By doing this you can become more effective in your choices and actions, from how you spend your time and the battles you choose, to the career paths you decide you take.

This is where you find fulfilment.

Leadership Lab: Designing solutions that really work

Change is far too slow.

After five consecutive years of measuring perceptions of women’s suitability for leadership, the Reykjavik Index for Leadership 2023 report notes how we appear to have made little discernible progress as a global society on viewing women and men as equally suitable to lead.

The report stated that the need to support women in their development and access to leadership remains “paramount”.

At Women-Space we are committed to creating leadership development approaches that really make a difference. To you. And your organisations. Today.

This is why we set up the Women-Space Leadership Lab. Our purpose is to promote innovative, radical and pioneering leadership development designed to change the dial on equity progress and workplace cultures.

We do this by bringing together leading trainers, consultants and researchers in the design and delivery of new professional programmes and initiatives.

Some programmes are pilots and we work with participant-consultants to finesse their effectiveness. Some programmes draw on tried and tested models that deliver results every time.

All are designed to support women as much as possible, enabling you to progress and thrive in your career and to live your values within your approach to leadership.

Why? Because without you, we cannot transform the world.

Women-Space exists to help you thrive in your career and be the leader that you aspire to be.

The workshops include guest speakers such as experts in strategic planning, university finance, and the external policy environment. As well as this, we have talks from specialists in the development of strengths-based, leadership practices.

Workshops and retreats give you access to a community built on common purpose, knowledge-sharing, and a supportive network.
