What clients say about this programme

“This archetypes programme for women provided a safe and supportive space to explore strategies to speak and be heard. I learned an enormous amount about how I appear to others and how others perceive me. By the end of the day, the way I present had shifted. I cannot recommend this masterclass enough. Christina and Lisa are awesome!”  (Dean (Research), UK University)

“An extremely valuable opportunity to step away from the day job and focus on one own's leadership and development. Not your run-of-the-mill training session, but something that provokes thought and reflection, gets one onto one's feet, and finding one's voice. The session challenges one to make changes that will stick. My recommendation: be brave and share, it means you will get more out of the day; as I did.  (Academic Leader, UK University)”

Do you want to discover your authentic power and lead with your integrity, values and your soul intact? Are you looking for how you can embody the capabilities to lead in the midst of complexity and uncertainty?

Women-Space has commissioned the voice and body coaching expert Lisa Akesson to design this game-changing masterclass specifically to support women who are looking to bring a wider repertoire to how they lead. Grounded in the notion that the mind and body are inextricably linked and to develop one, you must nurture the other, the result is the Seven Aspects of Empowered Leadership.

As our Founder and CEO, Christina writes:

As Pro-Vice Chancellor and Provost I had participated in leadership programmes - all designed to support me in the challenges of university stewardship. What I discovered was that once the immediate afterglow of a training session passed, habits and practices remained largely unchanged. I could honestly say that I did not really feel any better equipped as a leader as a result of these programmes and, particularly at times of pressure, every bit of what I had been taught seemed to go out of the window.

I kept looking for a programme that would make the difference I knew was possible and discovered that learning in an embodied way was transformatory. Learning through my body, and my mind, left me understanding what I needed to do to stay present as a leader even in the most intense situations. My self-confidence blossomed and I felt far more prepared for challenging situations. This learning has never gone away.

Are you ready to move out of your regular go-to ways of leading?

Read on for more details……

The Heart of the Programme

To be really effective, different challenges and situations require us to draw on different leadership approaches.  Yet there is a tendency that we rely on our regular, habituated styles. Within you are many more ways of being and doing than you are probably currently using.  This is why this masterclass introduces you to seven archetypical patterns of leadership.  These are core to building your incredibility as a leader.  Archetypes are personas or patterns of behaviours.  For example, the Nurturer builds rapport and strong relationships through empathy, trust and care.  Sound familiar?  If so, this is because this is a regular go-to for many women.  The question is - how often do you become the Warrior, taking a stance and committed to action?  Or the Sovereign bringing confidence and power to your truth?

By working with the seven essential embodied archetypal leadership approaches, you will discover new ways of being and doing that will enable you to more easily achieve your goals with ease and grace and new ways of leading that will build your reputation as a ground-breaking leader.   Being able to access the appropriate archetype in the right situation will enable you to adapt to the transforming landscape and institutional challenges you face.

Are you ready to take this step?

 What you can expect

This masterclass is designed for a carefully selected small group of women leaders.  You will learn about each of the seven archetypes that we know are essential to being seen as an incredible leader.  Come dressed in comfortable clothing as we do this through voice, body and performance.

We start with self-awareness where you will identify which archetypes you embody easily, which ones you use occasionally and which ones you avoid because they stretch you outside your comfort zone.

We critically explore how some archetypes can be risky for women because of how gendered stereotypes create judgements of appropriate leadership behaviour.

Through this masterclass our focus is to enable you to move beyond these stereotypes to new ways of being and doing in safe and constructive ways.

What You Will Learn

At the end of our jam-packed day together you will leave bursting with skills, capabilities and understanding that include how to:

·       connect and apply each archetype in your professional world.

·       show up as different kinds of archetypal leader.

·       hold your space and access your presence.

·       dynamically use your voice and land your message.

·       employ gesture, pace and pause to exude credibility as a leader.

·       embody the mental, emotional, physical and inspirational aspects of archetypal leadership.

·       communicate your vision with integrity and impact.

Who Is This For?

This programme has been specifically designed for senior women leaders in higher education who want to make exceptional impact through having a larger repertoire of how to be a leader available to them.  You might already be in post and wondering how you can increase your effectiveness or you might be wanting to progress and want to create the necessary impact.  If you are looking for a way to lead with your values intact and your presence enhanced, if you want to discover and harness your authentic power, this programme is for you.
